CND Cuticle Eraser - Review

Sometimes you try a product and you say to yourself...why didn´t I try it before? This is what I am thinking about CND Cuticle Eraser. Where has such a product been all my life? You can have the most beautiful nail polish in the world but if your cuticles are a mess, it is useless. Moisturizing them is one of the steps but you also need to exfoliate (please don´t cut your cuticles, you can do a lot of damage).

The time when your cuticles suffer most is in winter so I thought this post would be helpful. I have been using this product for two months now and I am so happy with it! It does exactly what it says. Helps prevent cuticle build-up and very gently exfoliates the cuticle area. The key thing is that you have to use the product regularly. The directions say: "Message a small amount into the cuticles daily." You really need a small amount. The amount I am showing you on the picture below is good for both hands for me. The eraser has a light scent, which I don´t mind.

The CND Cuticle Eraser comes in two sizes (14g or 49g). The packaging is great. A small tube from which you squeeze just the amount you want. For me together with a good basecoat, topcoat and cuticle moisturizer a must have product for a perfect mani. I love it! You will start seeing results in a week.
Have a look on the CND pages to find a store near you.

Deborah Lippmann Waking Up In Vegas

source: vanityfair.com
At last! I got to try my first Lippmann polish! And I am so happy that it is Waking Up In Vegas. Yes, this is the shade that Lady Gaga was wearing on the cover of the September issue of Vanity Fair. I don´t normaly go for polishes just because some celebrity was wearing it, I have my own taste but this cover was so pretty and the polish looked amazing on her, I had to have it. Waking Up In Vegas is a beige grey creme. It applies smooth and covers perfectly in two coats. It might not be a polish for all skin tones but for me it is perfect. This is now one of my favourite light cremes. Can´t wait to try other Lippmann polishes. What do you think?

SpaRitual A World Of Compassion

This post is special for me as it is my first time to try SpaRitual! Nice to meet you :) The bottles look so pretty (they contain the standard 15ml of nail polish), I like the shape and as with Orly love the rubberized cap. Today I want to show you A World Of Compassion which is from their latest collection Imagine. It is a blue/purple grey creme. I don´t have anything like it and I think it looks very amazing. I will have some other SpaRitual polishes for you, so stay tuned! Let me know what you think and what are your favourite SpaRitual polishes.

Red shimmer comparison

So here I am with another comparison :) I hope they are helpful for you. Today it is time for red shimmers. I was looking for a polish closest to Mommy Kissing Santa (MKS) from the China Glaze Holiday Collection 2010. In my review I said it reminds me of some of the polishes from the Retro Diva Collection. In this comparison I used Short & Sassy (S&S) and Skate Night (SN). In the comments I was also asked to compare it with OPI Diva Of Geneva (DOG). I already did a comparison with it here if you missed that :) All of these are two coats and I love them all!

Gold foil comparison

We have seen some really pretty gold foils pop out in the last collections so I thought a comparison would be helpful. So in this comparison I have for you Orly Luxe (L), OPI Glitzerland (G) from the Swiss Collection and China Glaze Midnight Kiss (MK) from the Holiday 2010 Collection. These three are very close. All the polishes are two coats except for Glitzerland. I also included Orly Glitz & Glamour which is also a gold but very different. I thought it would be helpful for you to choose that perfect gold for this Holiday :)

Red creme comparison

So this week I will have comparisons of some polishes from the China Glaze Holiday 2010 Collection. If you missed my swatches you can find them here. There were two creme reds in the collection and today I want to show you the closest polishes I had in my collection. The lighter red was Ruby Deer (RD) which most reminded me of OPI Color So Hot It Berns (CSHIB) from the Swiss Collection but they are not dupes. The darker red was Phat Santa (PS). The closest I could find was Essie Limited Addiction from the Fall Into Fashion Collection. All the reds in this comparison are two coats, some of them would be better with three :)

China Glaze 'Tis The Season To Be Naughty And Nice Holiday 2010 Collection - Swatches and Review

China Glaze has a HUGE collection of sixteen polishes for us for this Holiday! I was very excited about the collection and I am so happy I got the opportunity to try these out :) Now I want Christmas to be here. I already started shopping presents and having these babies at home makes me feel Christmas is coming. I am sure you are also curious, so here are my swatches:

The swatches are all without a base or top coat and are in natural daylight (no sun or lightbox).

FROSTY
This makes you think your nails are frozen. Love the way it looks. It is interesting and work safe at once :) This was three coats and I am sure it will be fun for layering.

MISTLETOE KISSES
I am not sure if I like it or not but I know there are a lot of green lovers out there that will love this polish. Two coats.

RUBY DEER
I am wearing red a lot lately and what holiday collection would it be without that perfect red? This is very nice, two coats. If you want to be sexy for Christmas you should wear Ruby Red!
edit: here is my comparison with this polish.

LITTLE DRUMMER BOY
Dark blue but not too dark to look black. This is amazing, it is a one coater and applies like a dream. One of my favourites!

MRS. CLAUS
I like the idea of pink glitter but I don´t like this specific pink. But I am sure it will be a great polish for those christmas parties or for layering. Two coats.

MIDNIGHT KISS
Amazing golden foil. Other brands also have these but there is never enough gold for Christmas! Two coats.
edit: here is my comparison with this polish.

SNOW
White creme. Not the best I have tried but one of the better. You have to be careful, this polish is watery and apply thinner coats. I managed to get this nice in two coats which is great I think.

PARTY HEARTY
Possibly the best polish from the whole collection! You just have to get this one, it is a must have. I am showing you one coat over Snow but I will do a special post about this polish over different colors. The great thing is that the glitter spreads evenly. I love it!

JOLLY HOLLY
Another favourite. A perfect christmas green! Covers in one thicker coat.

JINGLE BELLS
The second gold of this collection. You can see some brushstrokes but they were not so visible IRL. Two coats.

PHAT SANTA
Another beautiful creme red. It is a bit darker than Ruby Red and again two coats.
edit: here is my comparison with this polish.

CHEERS TO YOU
Silver foil. Loved this polish and I can´t wait to try it with Party Hearty on top :) Two coats.

SUGAR PLUMS
This really looks like sugar has been added to the polish :) Can´t wait to wear this as a full mani. One thicker coat.

PEACE ON EARTH
This doesn´t look much like a holiday color to me but it is beautiful! Two coats.

NAUGHTY AND NICE
Very dark vampy purple. Not very unique but again it can look amazing with Party Hearty on top. Will try that! Two coats.

MOMMY KISSING SANTA
Nice deep ruby red, I like the shimmer. This was two coats again. Reminds me of some of the polishes from the Retro Diva Collection, must make a comparison soon :)
So this is it! Sixteen polishes...wow, I have never before reviewed such a huge collection. The great thing is that everybody gets to choose what they like. Glitter lovers and creme lovers, we have work safe polishes and some really crazy ones too. I found at least four polishes that are absolutely amazing and I like the rest too. There isn´t a polish that would be a dissapointment. Another great thing was the application. I didn´t have probles with them, although Snow was a bit watery. The color choise is all you can wish from a Holiday collection. All the classic colors are here :)
These also come in super sweet sets and I am sure every girl would love to find these under the christmas tree.
Now let me know what do you think? Which ones are you going to get? And I am not talking about Party Hearty...you MUST have that one :)

Orly Pixy Stix

Pixy Stix is from the Sweet Collection Spring 2010. For me this was the best spring collection we have seen this year! I loved the polishes, their formula and sweet colors. Pixy Stix is also very pretty although my winner from this collection is Gumdrop :) The formula was great on this one too. This was two coats. Do you wear spring polishes in fall? I don´t. I like to wear darker colors or neons to cheer me up but not pastels.

Orly Rio Nights

What a pretty purple! Too bad the application didn´t work for me on this one. I found the polish streaky and as you can see from the pictures it was hard to make even coats :( What a shame because this really is a very nice purple creme. On the other side I think this is the only Orly that didn´t work for me, I love their polishes!

New from OPI!

This is so exciting! Two new collections coming from OPI! The colors look absolutely amazing, I can´t wait :) What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
