Illamasqua Eurydice Lipstick - Swatches and Review

I am sure many of you already know that recently Illamasqua added new products to their Human Fundamentalism Collection. There was one product that immediately had my attention. The super bright lipstick in Eurydice. So I am really excited that I can show you the lipstick on my lips today. You know I am a big fan of Illamasqua lipsticks. I said it before and I will say it again...I actually really like the slightly dryer formula of their lipsticks. They work great with my lips and last for hours. Eurydice is no exception and it is a perfect summer shade! Not so neon looking as on the above picture. I think that the swacthed pictures are colour accurate. Illamasqua describes the shade as a bright fuchsia pink. The lipstick has a matt finish:

I don´t swatch lipsticks very often but when I do I always get comments wondering how the lipstick would look with a gloss on. So below I am showing you Illamasqua Eurydice with Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss in Briliant on top. I love the way this looked. Even better than on the picture.

I must say that I strated loving bright lipsticks lately and Illamasqua Erydice is exactly what I was looking for. I am blond and it looks great, brightens up your whole face. If you don´t mind the slightly dryer formula and you don´t have problems with dry lips I think you should definitely give this one a try!

Zoya Kimber versus China Glaze Strawberry Fields

Hello dear nail polish addicts! I have a quick comparison for you today. On Friday I showed you the Zoya Beach & Surf Collection and the first comment from Danny said that Zoya Kimber (K) is a lot like China Glaze Strawberry Fields (SF), so I thought a comparison would be nice. As you can see these are different. SF is more pink and it covers in three coats. Kimber in two and I guess I like it more because of that. Which one do you like more?

Zoya Beach & Surf Collection Summer 2012 - Swatches and Review

I have something very exciting for you today. The Zoya Beach & Surf Collection for summer. I LOVE summer collections. They remind me of holidays and are always so positive and full of colour.

Zoya says: "Summer 2012 is going to be a super stylish season for nails with the latest offering of nail polish collections,Beach and Surf, from the new color of fashion, Zoya! This new splash of color, designed by the Zoya color experts, is kissed by sea and sand translating beautifully onto the nail in the famous, full-coverage Zoya formula.

Dive into the creamy shades of the Zoya Beach Collection or the shimmering sea foils of the Zoya SurfCollection. The choice is yours – this color palette is sure to be a splash!"

So let´s have a look at these. The first part is the Beach Collection followed by Surf. All the swatches are in natural indoor light (no sun, flash or artificial light):

REAGAN

LARA

SHELBY

ARIZONA

TRACIE

WEDNESDAY

CARLY

KIMBER

RORY

MYRTA

MEG

ZUZA

To sum this collection up: I love how these two collections complete each other and it will sure be a lot of fun to play around with these shades. For example I will for sure be wearing something from the Beach on my nails and from the Surf on my toes. Or different combinations on the nails! I must try something soon. The colour choice is also very pretty, I am in love with the turquoise and pinks and purple of course!
I also really liked the formula. It was a bit thicker but not in the bad way. I loved the cremes, they apply like a dream. These all covered in two coats and some may even need just one thicker coat.
So what do you think of these? Which ones did you get or are on your wishlist?

P.S While speaking about Zoya, I must mention that this weekend is the Earth Day Zoya Nail Polish Exchange! For more information click here.

Nicole By OPI Wel-Kim To My World Collection Spring 2012 - Swatches and Review

Hello my dear readers. I have another spring collection to show you...this time from Nicole By OPI. This collection continues with nail polishes inspired by Kim Kardashian. I already showed you the previous colours on my blog. I still remember how much surprised I was by the first set of polishes. In a good way, the colours looked much better on the nails than in the bottle and I loved their formula. So I was very curious about these six new shades.

“These six new lacquers really showcase Kim’s flirty, feminine side,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Nicole by OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “Kim often wears pink, white and other softer-toned shades; these colors are great for creating a classic, elegant look that works day or night.”

So let´s have a look at them:

NOTHING KIM-PARES TO BLUE
I really like this light blue. Perfect for a spring mani. Three coats.

OTHERS PALE BY KIM-PARISON
Milky white with a tiny hint of pink. I got even coverage with the third coat.

UP & KIM-ING PINK
Candy pink, such a classic. Every girl should have one. This was two coats.

KIM KONFIDENTIAL
This is described as honey beige. I think it just does not work with my skintone :( It is too warm for me. Two coats.

HERE KIM´S THE SUN
This is a glitter top coats so I used one coat on top of the previous four polishes.

LIGHTS, KIM-ERA, ACTION!
Now this is my favourite polish from the whole collection. Just look at the way it changes the polishes. I love this! I used one coat.

Overall I really like the colour choice. As a whole the collection looks compact. I like that we have two different top coats with which you can play around for different looks. What i don´t like is that some of these needed three coats for full coverage and of course I would be more happy if the beige looked better with my skin tone.
Which one do you like? Let me know...

Another collection worth loving: China Glaze Retro Diva

I so much love showing you these older China Glaze polishes. I already posted about the Rodeo Diva Collection which is for me one of the best collections ever made. A year later, in 2009, the fall collection was also very very pretty. So today I bring you swatches of Retro Diva. I again don´t have all 12 of the polishes, just the ones that became permanent. All of these are two coats (guess Stroll would be better with three), perfect and flawless application. I think my favourite is Let´s Groove. What about you? Do you remember this collection and what polishes do you have?
