Illamasqua Eurydice Lipstick - Swatches and Review

I am sure many of you already know that recently Illamasqua added new products to their Human Fundamentalism Collection. There was one product that immediately had my attention. The super bright lipstick in Eurydice. So I am really excited that I can show you the lipstick on my lips today. You know I am a big fan of Illamasqua lipsticks. I said it before and I will say it again...I actually really like the slightly dryer formula of their lipsticks. They work great with my lips and last for hours. Eurydice is no exception and it is a perfect summer shade! Not so neon looking as on the above picture. I think that the swacthed pictures are colour accurate. Illamasqua describes the shade as a bright fuchsia pink. The lipstick has a matt finish:

I don´t swatch lipsticks very often but when I do I always get comments wondering how the lipstick would look with a gloss on. So below I am showing you Illamasqua Eurydice with Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss in Briliant on top. I love the way this looked. Even better than on the picture.

I must say that I strated loving bright lipsticks lately and Illamasqua Erydice is exactly what I was looking for. I am blond and it looks great, brightens up your whole face. If you don´t mind the slightly dryer formula and you don´t have problems with dry lips I think you should definitely give this one a try!

Illamasqua Apocalips Lipstick from the Human Fundamentalism Collection 2012

Illamasqua is not only amazing Nail Varnishes that I absolutely love but they have some other amazing products. One of my favourite are their lipsticks. I have about five of them and I am always tempted to try out new shades. Today I would like to show you my swatches of their latest shade which is a part of the Human Fundamentalism Collection. The lipstick in Apocalips (love the name). Apocalips is a teal blue lipstick and I think it is not a surprise that I have nothing like this in my lipstick collection. The lipstick covers very well and evenly and stays on for hours. This is what I love about Illamasqua lipsticks. However it is a bit dry so your lips must be flawless before application and you can apply some lip balm before the lipstick. Here are my swatches:

Overall I love the idea and I love that Illamasqua is not scared and comes up with such shades. I even think that it looks nice on me, since I am blond. However this is not for normal wear, but I would love to try it for a special occasion. With this lipstick I am sure to have beautiful lips all night long! What do you think? Illamasqua Midnight Bite Duo

Guess what I had under the christmas tree? I put there a little gift for myself:

This cute little set from Illamasqua contains two full size products - a gloss and a lipstick. I bought it on ASOS for 9.5 pounds! Yes, just for this little and I am always happy to get such a deal. Sadly this product is already out of stock.

First is the lipstick in Sangers which is a true red. It is not blue, not orange, it is just perfect. It matches my skin tone perfectly and I finally found a red lipstick I feel good in. Illamasqua lipsticks are not very creamy, but I don´t mind because that makes them stay on longer and that is what is most important for me. I already had this on for a dinner and it lasted very well!

Since the lipstick is matte you can add a clear gloss to make your lips look even better. That is the reason why Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss in Brilliant is also a part of the set. The gloss has a very nice scent, not too strong and also stays for a long time. It is not very watery, rather on the thick side.

And here are the swatches. On the left is Sangers alone and on the right it is with a small amount of Brilliant.

Smashbox Lip Enchanting Gloss - Swatches and Review

A little makeup post for today :) I have these at home a few weeks now. I love testing new cosmetics. I have to say that my favourite gloss of all time is Smashbox 35mm. I love it for summer. I was very excited when I got the chance to try out more. I have six shades to show you! (Yes, I photoshoped my skin. This post is not about my imperfections but about the glosses).

ILLUME

Illume is a sheer champagne shimmer. On the lips it looks almost transparent and gives you a nice shine. Your lips will look juicy. It is not sticky.

CAPTURE

One of my favourites. Capture is a nice medium bronze. It is very well pigmented. This shade went straight to my makeup box and I am using it very often. Great summer color!

STARLIT

This one is also very well pigmented. It looks almost like a lipstick with a gloss on top. A beautiful vibrant red. Great to pair with a black eyeliner and mascara. Hot!

ELECTRIC

Another beautiful shade. It is not very visible from my pictures but this fuchsia pink has a little bit of blue shimmer in it.

SULTRY

This is a plummy brown with gold shimmer. I love the color but don´t have the courage to wear it. But if you like dark glosses I think you should give it a try.

ICON

In the packaging Icon does not look very nice. But because it is sheer, you just have  hint of color on your lips and in the end it does not look bad at all. I would say this is a good summer color, can´t imagine it on pale skin.

As I said, I love Smashbox glosses. They do not stick, stay for long and I they don´t have an annoying scent that some glosses have. Three of the shades have already found their places in my makeup bag and I feel like I could try out some more. For me Smashbox is very much connected with summer because a lot of my summer glosses and bronzers are from Smashbox. I have some more products from them I want to show you, so excited!

Eyeko Liptastik Loud Mouth, Lip Lover and Hot Lips: Swatches and Review

Today I want to show you a really cute product from Eyeko...well, everything from Eyeko is cute :) I am a regular user of some of their products. My favourite Eyeko nail polish is Punk and I also like their Cream with Extra Glow. A few days ago I got another promising product from them in the mail. I want to show you three Liptastic Glossy Lip Pens.

When it comes to lipstick I apply it with a lip brush because I can not get it right just like that. I found these pens very easy to use. First I outlined my lips and them filled them in with color. This way you get a big color payoff, these are very well pigmented. If you want a softer look, try to dab a little color with your fingers. If your lips tend to dry, then don´t worry with these. I found them very hydrating, they give a glossy look. As I said, these come in three shades, so here are my swatches (left on lips - my skin retouched, hate macro pictures and didn´t want to scare you, right is on my hand).

LOUD MOUTH

"Rosy pink lips always looks polished and effortless. Maximise your beauty wardrobe with this flattering hue."

This is a nice rosy color. I like wearing a very soft layer of this shade. It makes you look mylipsbutbetter :)

LIP LOVER

"Sexy red lips are winter's hottest accessory and this scarlet hue will keep you ahead of the fash pack."

Red lips will always be classy and never boring. This is a warm red with a bit of orange. It looks very sexy.

HOT LIPS

"Fuchsia lips are just the thing for updating retro-trends and adding a youthful edge to your look."

This is really hot. I think Hot Lips will be great for summer. This is the only color I didn´t dare to wear outside and only had it on for a while at home.

In the past I tried some lipstick pencils from other brands but didn´t like them. I didn´t like to sharpen them, it was a mess and they were all broken. I also remember that a lot of them were very dry. Compared to those I think that Liptastik is great. I love the fact that you don´t have to sharpen them, you just twist the bottom of the pencil. I also like their finish and the way they feel on your lips. Staying power is average, if you eat or drink, you will have to do some touch ups. Negatives? Well I don´t like the smell of these but you can notice it only if you put your nose close to the pencil. On the lips they don´t bother you at all. One more negative is the choice of colors. Now don´t get me wrong, I like these three, but I hope they come with more shades, would love to have this in nude :)

Estee Lauder Lush Rose and Cherry Kiss Lipstick Swatches

Don´t worry...I am still a nail polish blog, I just sometimes need to show you cosmetics too :) This time I want to show you two Estee Lauder Signature Hydra Lustre lipsticks.

I bought these in a sale on strawberrynet.com a while ago. I couldn´t find many swatches on the net so I am posting these pictures, maybe they will help somebody. One was for about ten dollars which is a great deal (they cost 32 dollars in my country). Both of them are a limited edition for Valentines day so they have a really cute “L♥VE” logo on the front and on the back of the lipstick.

Both of them are hydrating which is great if your lips tend to dry but of course they don´t last as long as dryer types of lipstick. I still like both of them very much and if there will be another sale, I will buy other shades too :)

Illamasqua Atomic Lipstick from the Toxic Nature Collection 2011 - Swatches and Review

Those of you who follow me on facebook (if you don´t and would like, click here) already know that I got a sweet package from Illamasqua. It contained three nail polishes and one lipstick from the new Toxic Nature Collection! The first thing that I want to show you is not a nail polish but the Atomic lipstick. On the first picture you can see the classic Illamasqua packaging. The lipstick looks much more pink on this picture than it really is.

I have to warn you that I hate to take pictures of my lips. But I think that a review without a picture on the lips is useless, so here I am with a small picture :) Atomic is a bright fuchsia, very pigmented. It will be great for spring/summer. I like the formula of the lipstick too. It doesn´t dry your lips but it has very good staying power. I had it on a few hours, drinking, eating. I took a macro shot of a swatch on my skin. Amazing color, isn´t it?

I am no lipstick expert, I just know if I like it or not and if it feels nice on the lips. I have only a few lipsticks that I use regularly and this one will be one of them. Again you get the quality of Illamasqua and I love the color.

Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Solstice Swatches

Summer is coming so I bought something I think I will use a lot. Solstice is one of the four shades of Liquid metals Illamasqua offers. It is so golden and so so so pigmented. The bad thing is that it creases like crazy on my eyes :( even with a primer. But it still can be used as a base for powder eyeshadow, or on lips, face etc. Do you have a Liquid Metal? Any tips to stop the creasing, except changing my eyes? :)

Léto se blíží a tak jsem si udělala radost menším nákupem, který v létě hodně využiju. Solstice je jeden ze čtyř odstínů, které Illamasqua v současnosti nabízí. Je zlatý a neuvěřitelně pigmentovaný, stačí opravdu troška. Negativem je, že mi na očích vůbec nedrží a to ani s bází. I tak se ale dá použít jako barevná báze pod stíny, nebo na rty, tváře atd. Máte nějaký liquid metal? Nějaké tipy, jak ho udržet na očích déle než půl hodiny? :)
